Current Volunteer Opportunities

Recruiting 4,000 volunteer readers, tutors and mentors in Allegheny County.
Opportunities range from an hour a week to a half an hour a month and volunteers are needed for youth throughout elementary school, high school and college.

Mentors work with Pittsburgh Public School 6th graders to help them learn about careers, dream big and understand the importance of school success.

Connecting volunteers to frail, homebound seniors to help them stay healthy and safe in their homes.  Volunteers help seniors with a variety of tasks including grocery shopping, transportation to medical appointments, performing Safety for Senior home assessments and friendly home visits.

United Way of Allegheny County and Pittsburgh Cares have partnered together to connect youth and adult volunteers, including families and groups, to one-time, ongoing, and skill-based volunteer opportunities throughout the region.
