On Wednesday, September 16, 2009 a sell-out audience of 800 women philanthropists and community leaders met for the 8th Annual United Way of Allegheny County Women’s Leadership Council Breakfast.

Featured keynote speaker was Dr. Bertice Berry– best-selling author, award-winning entertainer and comedienne, and sought-after lecturer who has been featured on Oprah, The Tonight Show and 20/20. Dr. Berry, who has created a niche as both a gifted speaker with a comic edge and a comic with a serious message, discussed the foundation for living a purposeful life at home, at work and in the community. She firmly believes that community involvement goes beyond just writing a check.

“When you walk in purpose,” Dr, Berry says, “you collide with destiny!”
