Assisting Financially Struggling Adults and Families Achieve Long Term Self-Sufficiency

Open application process—United Way of Allegheny County is seeking proposals from eligible nonprofits that provide services within the Financially Struggling Adults and Families critical need area.  Interested organizations should link to and review the corresponding documents to determine if they should proceed in registering for a training session and complete on online application.




Agency Eligibility
Special emphasis is being placed on joint proposals that present strategies for bringing about broad community outcomes, including collaborations and partnerships that impact a greater number of persons or provide a comprehensive approach, mobilize volunteers or corporate leaders and employees, and efforts to bring about system or policy changes.

The applying agency must be a nonprofit with IRS 501(c) (3) tax-exempt status that is located and providing a health or human service in Allegheny County.  (NOTE:  arts, cultural, religious, recreational, political programs, government agencies and institutions providing formal education are not eligible.)  If these criteria are met, then:

You need JavaScript enabled to view it as soon as possible.  Since we are emphasizing community outcomes, and using an on-line application system, we strongly encourage participation in both a proposal feedback session and the logic model training--passwords are needed to access the online system and will be provided following your participation.

Online Application through Web-Based System:
The questions that are attached to the above Background Document will need to be answered on-line.  We use e-CImpact, which allows applicants to copy and paste WORD documents into the online application.  However, the number of characters is limited for each answer.  We suggest use of the word counter on the WORD function if you intend to copy and paste.  Agencies will be able to develop and save their draft documents online in the web-based system, and then verify and submit when complete by 5 p.m. on February 2, 2012.
