An Update from Campaign Chair, Pat Hassey

We are in the heart of the workplace campaign. Early campaign results have been encouraging, with several campaigns closing with an increase of 2% or greater. I encourage you to set a campaign goal at least 2% over last year to continue this early trend.

Here is my report to you and my request for your actions:

# of Donors
Early campaigns are demonstrating a large increase in the number of donors, many starting at small giving levels. In two of our largest companies, we have seen 1,278 and 2,036 more donors, a 42% and 53% increase in the numbers over last year. Request: Increase the number of donors over last year

New Donors

Increase in Employee Contributions

Increased Donors

Of the 17,195 donors who renewed their 2009 contribution this year, 93% have either increased or remained flat. Request: Encourage employees to increase contributions

Recruitment of New Workplace Campaigns

Recruitment

Request: Reach out to peers and contractors and help United Way recruit additional workplace campaigns

Our campaign theme this year is Live United for a Greater Pittsburgh. Thank you for your work toward this goal.

Regards,

Pat Hassey
2010 United Way Campaign Chair
