Art Rooney II Announces 100 Percent Team Participation in Steelers’ United Way Fundraising Campaign

Continued dedication to United Way demonstrates that Steelers are winners
on and off the field

(PITTSBURGH) – Steelers President Art Rooney II announced today that the Steelers achieved 100 percent player participation in the team's annual United Way fundraising campaign, which just ended. This team effort underscores how strongly the Steelers feel about giving back to the Pittsburgh community that gives them such dedicated support.

Steeler fever is infectious in Pittsburgh, and in the same way, Rooney and Bob Nelkin, United Way of Allegheny County President and Chief Professional Officer, hope that giving to United Way will also continue to be an important priority for Steeler Nation.

"There is no question that when we unite we can make Pittsburgh an even better place to live," said Rooney, who is also President of the United Way Board of Directors. "I'm extremely proud of our players, who place a high value on supporting our community."

"We consider this to be another huge victory for the city of Pittsburgh," said Nelkin. "The Steelers have set a great example, and we hope the community will follow our hometown champs' longstanding dedication to bettering our community through support of the United Way," added Nelkin. "Campaigns are still under way all over the city, and we hope fellow Pittsburghers will follow the Steelers' lead by Living United for a Greater Pittsburgh."
